ADVOCACY

Space for a Better World  was formed to inspire and educate people from all ages and walks of life about the ways that space technology can help save our planet. We educate through story telling content, curated experiences, events, and educational partnerships.

Our goal is to work with a diverse group of organizations who are committed to solving the United Nation's SDG's, promote sustainability, and raise awareness about the ways space tech can be and already is being used for good. We also curate experiences with astronauts to give people a chance to experience the awe of our planet up close with those who have a unique perspective of seeing Earth from space.

OCTOBER 2023

EXCLUSIVE VIP TOUR OF NASA JOHNSON SPACE CENTER THREE NASA ASTRONAUTS:

Charlie Duke - Apollo 16 Moonwalker

Nicole Stott - NASA Astronaut

Doug Hurley - NASA Astronaut

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, we took a special group of people on a VVIP tour of Johnson Space Center as part of an exclusive experience hosted by SPACE for a Better World and our project partner MoonDAO.

We visited the Neutral Buoyancy Lab, the ISS Mockup, the historic Apollo Mission Control as well as the current active Mission Control.

That same evening we had an intimate dinner with a conversation with the astronauts.

A portion of the proceeds benefit SPACE for a Better World outreach around the world with astronauts to connect the space curious to the space serious and to educate and inspire about the ways space benefits life on Earth.

#RiseTogetherUK for Harwell Campus

The #RiseTogether Events at Harwell Campus were a huge success! Our founder Christina Korp produced 3 days of events promoting pathways to careers in space for Harwell Science and Innovation Campus from October 9 - 11, 2023.

This included a nationwide space art project with our partner Space for Art Foundation with kids art revealed on October 9 on the big screen in Piccadilly Circus generously supported by Piccadilly Lights. On October 10 270 children spent the day with 3 astronauts making a giant space artwork, doing postcards to space and hands on activities like junk modeling.  On October 11 for International Day of the Girl, was the Solutions Summit where 25 speakers - primarily women, talked about pathways to careers in space and ways to make the space ecosystem more inclusive. We ended the day inviting people to join the RISE TOGETHER SPACE ALLIANCE to proactively work to promote diversity and inclusion in space.

AIM HIGHER ROMANIA 2023
Spacefest and SPACE DAY ROMANIA were a success!

On June 11, 2023 we held our first ever SPACE DAY ROMANIA event launching Spacefest for the first time in Bucharest, Romania at Politehnica University Bucharest.

Over 15,000 people showed up and it was very clear that there is a lot of interest in space.

NASA Astronaut Nicole Stott, Citizen Astronaut Sara Sabry and Romanian Cosmonaut Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu dazzled the crowds with their stories of going to space. And inspired a whole new generation about the value of going to space.

Curated Adventures with Astronauts - all over Planet Earth

Did you know there is really only one ocean? Even though we name regions of the ocean depending on location in the world. Glaciers provide the clean water that is vital to the health of our planet. Seeing it up close is humbling and awe inspiring. It's a special experience that for many is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Through SPACE for a Better WorldPurpose Entertainment and Wanderlux we offer once in a lifetime experiences with astronauts as the guides. Getting to hear firsthand stories from their time in space and a truly unique perspective of looking back at Earth makes trips like this even more special.

Join us on the next astronaut adventures to Antarctica. Learn more at info@spacefabworld.com.

Many people ask,

Why are we spending money on going to space? We need to save this planet.

But who conducts climate research and provides the data to take better care of Earth?

HINT

It’s the space community.

- Global positioning (GPS)

Many of the satellites launched into orbit are put there to conduct critical research that help us monitor conditions on the ground to make life better for everyone on Earth. Satellites also provide technology and capabilities we depend on every day.
